Safety Zone Mats

Tapeswitch Safety Mats

FEATURES and BENEFITS
  • The construction consists of two highly rigid metal plates separated by spacer buttons and "O" ring seals. Thus providing for long, trouble-free life even under adverse conditions.
  • Our switching mechanism is covered in virgin vinyl which seals out water and other contaminants, providing protection under extreme conditions.
  • Easy installation because it installs directly on or in floor with or without aluminum profiles. With a 1/2" (12.7mm) thickness and a ribbed surface.
  • Provides long life while reducing slipping near machinery.
  • 4-Wire FAIL-SAFE wiring is standard.
SAFETY ZONE MATS
PROVIDE FIRST LINE PROTECTION
FOR PERSONNEL SENSING

Every day workers are injured around machinery because of inadequate protection. These injuries cause distress, hardships, and loss for both the family and the company.

Safety Zone Mats reduce or eliminate accidents around machinery. London Mat Industries' Safety Zone Mats are the proven solution for most types of industrial machinery requiring auxiliary safeguarding protection. Multiple Safety-Zone Mats may be installed to create differing zones of protection/sensing.

The Fail-Safe Monitoring Circuit is the recommended wiring method for Safety Zone Mats. This circuit detects power failures, opened or shorted leads, internal faults, or normal actuation of the mat. A current limited power supply is taken from the control unit through the sensor switching elements and back to the control unit, where it supplies power to the output relays.

The output contacts of these relays change state when the output relays are energized. When the sensor is actuated, the power supply to the relays is short-circuited, causing them to de-energize or open. In addition, if the power supply to the output relays is interrupted or shorted out by a fault in the cabling, internal wiring or switch elements, power to the output relays will be lost, the relays will de-energize and the contact will change state.
